Jade | Tacoma | Senior Photography

Things I learned about Jade when working with her today…she has a great smile and isn’t afraid to use it.  Her sister makes her giggle.  She wants to attend Jackson University and study Biology and go into their pre-med program (I told her she would look cute in scrubs).   She can be both “fierce” and “adorable” at the same time.  When she changes into her dance uniform she comes ALIVE and I can tell there is a strength about who she.  I loved watching her focus on moving her body gracefully and she so much enjoys every minute of it.

Next week she will return to Detroit and I wish her all the best as she finishes her Senior Year.  Thank you Jade for spending some time with me today!

Danielle’s Senior Photos | Gig Harbor

Danielle started out her email to me…”you married my favorite teacher, Mr. T”!!  I loved it and knew immediately that I HAD to spend some time with this girl ~ Shaun informed me that she was a bubbly 8th grader and could only imagine what she is like as a Senior!  So we met on a cold, cold Sunday afternoon and shot us some Senior Photos.  Poor Danielle was so brave to be outside in 43 degree weather without a coat!!  I’m super excited about how her photos turned out and hope you enjoy them as well…

I also wanted to give a shout out to Autumn Marie Photography for hanging out with us today!  I met Autumn last Spring and had the privilege of meeting her and her husband last Fall for a family shoot out at Hunter Farms.  I’m super excited to see where Autumn takes her business ~ I would encourage you to check her out:)

Chad | Gig Harbor Senior Photos

I’ve worked in and around the foster care and Department of Child and Family Services offices for a couple years now.  I’ve seen a lot of kids with horrible experiences of being moved from foster home to foster home…its heartbreaking to hear the stories of adults who manage to break free of the fostercare system only to have lasting scares.

I loved when Nancy called me to ask about getting some  Senior Photos for her son Chad.   He was adopted into their home 10 years ago.  He has been an exception to the rule – and a blessing to his parents since the day God placed him in their life.  I loved the moment during our time together when Nancy said “if only all those social workers could see him now…they would be eating their words!”.   The bond between Chad and his mother was a joy to witness – I could tell that Nancy has a genuine delight in her son and encourages him to explore his passion and dreams…and in return Chad respects and honors his parents in everything he does. It is not often that I see that in an 18 year old!!

Brianne’s Senior Photos | Gig Harbor

I got a chance to meet Brianne about 10 days ago on a drizzly Saturday morning…I took one look at her and said to myself this girl will have NO problems shooting in the rain.  She has this AMAZING curly hair that I was secretly jealous of the whole morning:)Needless to say the cold, damp drizzle didn’t phase her a bit. I loved looking back on all her photos and seeing the dramatic sides to who she is.  And believe it or not ~ those blue eyes are 100% hers.  Dang.

My friend Lisa also had a chance to accompany me to the shoot and several of these images are ones that she took ~ I was so blessed that she could be there with me!
