As I walked up the lantern lit path I started to get choked up…already. I never met this sweet young lady, but she sure has touched my heart.
I was introduced to Liz, Peyton’s mother, through Holly at Angel Wings. In 2010 Peyton was diagnosed with DIPG which is essentially a rare, inoperable tumor found in the brainstem. For over a year Peyton, her family, friends and doctors fought the tumor. On October 23, 2011 Peyton passed away but her memory has lived on. It was an honor to be a part of this night, there was more joy than you could imagine as we celebrated her life and honored her passing.
If you have even a moment, please go to Peyton’s Ranch and support what they do.
It was dark when this next photo was taken, I couldn’t read what her father had written on the lantern. It wasn’t until I got home that I realized what it said…
