I write this post today with a heavy heart...a wonderful woman that I recently was blessed to meet is in a fight for her life.  And not just a little battle...but a war.  You see, Sarah was diagnosed with an incurable form of lung cancer last March.  Almost immediately friends, family, co-workers, team members, doctors...they all sprung into action.  Sarah is a teacher and a coach and she invests in so many people. And all those people, those families that she has invested in for years ~ they started to PRAY.

Prayers covered this family.  Prayers covered the doctors working with Sarah.  Prayer to be relieved of pain.  And I know that God hears those prayers, he is close to this family, even in their pain HE is there.  Crying with them, and holding them so close.

Right now Sarah is in the hospital addressing several medical complications and could use even more prayer.  Really though, after meeting Sarah, I want to go door to door asking for people to intercede. I want to take her in my arms and hold her close ~ just as her family does.  SO, right now, if you are reading this, just take a moment.  One moment to whisper a prayer for Sarah and her sweet family.  Ask for comfort, peace, healing...whatever the Lord leads you.  Please.  Our prayers are heard by the Lord.

So this day, nearly two weeks ago, I entered into this story.  Knowing a little of the situation and why we were taking photos.  This family is so brave, facing so many unknowns these last eight months. On this Sunday there were so many smiles, there was also tears as they embraced.  I wanted to give them family portraits they will hold onto no matter what the outcome.  Sarah, you have touched so many lives by how selfless you have been through this. Since day one you have not stopped living or given up on seeing years ahead of you.  Loving your husband, children...those around you.  And I know you never will.  You are living life to the fullest, giving God the glory on your strong days and reaching to him on your weak days.

"You beat cancer by how you live, why you live, and in the manner in which you live. So live. LIVE! Fight like hell. And when you get too tired to fight then lay down and rest and let somebody else fight for you. That's also very very important! I can't do this "don't give up" thing all by myself!-Stuart Scott
